Trước khi ôn lại cách sử dụng của hai thì trên, mời bạn tham khảo đoạn hội thoại sau:
The party.
* Kim: What horrible weather today? Id like to go out but I think It will continue raining
* John: Wow! I dont know. Perhaps the sun will come out this afternoon
* Kim: I hope so. I am going to have a party with my friends tomorrrow. Would you like to come?
* John: I would love to. Thanks. Whos going to come to the party?
* Kim: My high school friends. My cousins Mark and Linda are going to cook for me. Can you cook?
* John: Oh yes, I will come to help.
Đây là bảng tóm tắt của hai thì động từ này:
1. Thì tương lai đơn
1.1. Công thức:
To be:
* Câu khẳng định: S + will + be + C (She will be an auditor next year)
* Câu phủ định: S + wont + be + C (They wont be here on time.)
* Câu nghi vấn: Will + S + be + C? (Will she be more beautiful after the cosmetic surgery?)
Động từ thường:
* Câu khẳng định: S + will + V (I will help her to do her housework)
* Câu phủ định: S + wont + V (Ann wont pass the exam)
* Câu nghi vấn: Will + S + V? (Will he come?)
1.2. Cách sử dụng:
* Tương lai đơn diễn tả một hành động sẽ xảy ra trong tương lai nhưng được quyết định ngay tại thời điểm nói (on-the-spot decision)
Ex: Ok, I will do this...
* Một hành động trong tương lai có tính quy luật
Ex: I will be 28 next month
Signal words: I think, I dont think, I am afraid, I am sure that, next time, in + time (in 2 years...), from now on...
2. Thì tương lai gần - be going to
2.1 Công thức
To be: S + be + going to be + C (Linh is going to be a mother)
Động từ thường:
* Câu khẳng định: S + be + going to V + O (Minh is going to work in America)
* Câu phủ định: S + be + not + going to V + O (Lan is not going to work for Korean companies)
* Câu nghi vấn: Be + S + going to V + O? (Are you going to stay with her?)
2.2. Cách sử dụng
* Diễn đạt một hành động sẽ tiến hành trong tương lai nhưng đã có kế hoạch từ trước
Ex: I am having my birthday party next week
I am going to have my birthday party next week.
(Với go và come ta không được sử dụng ở thì hiện tại tiếp diễn)
* Diễn đạt một điều sắp xảy ra dựa vào bằng chứng hiện tại (evidence)
Ex: Look at the clouds. Its going to rain.
I failed the interview. My mom is not going to be happy.
