Climate change is one of the most intuitive changes in global warming. Scientists say, “Changing weather patterns linked to rising global temperatures have resulted in a dearth of wind across northern China, according to several recent studies, exacerbating a wave of severe pollution that has been blamed for millions of premature deaths”. However, when I returned home last Christmas, there was no snow on the street, instead, it was a warm winter with sunshine. The continuation of global warming may not only bring about changes in climate. The world may undergo more unpredictable changes due to global warming in the future.
Global climate change has seriously affected the living environment of animals, the change of climate, the quality of human life, and the threat to human security. Global warming has become a very difficult trend to reverse. It and rising temperatures have caused very serious consequences for human beings, brought great impact on the Earth’s organisms and seriously affected people’s lives, but people didn’t realize the seriousness of the problem. It is urgent to protect the environment and people should take active measures to deal with it.

Leah: You know, my aunt is a scientist and she’s leading a team of biologists studying wildlife in Antarctica.
Andy: A female lead scientist!? That’s quite uncommon.
Leah: That’s true. This is indeed a very male-dominated field. She started when she was twenty-five and got promoted after working for twenty years. If it was ten years ago, she would not be a lead scientist.
Andy: Gender equality has come a long way.
Leah: But still not enough in my opinion.
Andy: Totally agree… So what does your aunt do exactly?
Leah: Her team monitors the population of King Penguins and its natural habitat which is increasingly limited.
Andy: How come?
Leah: Because of ice melting which was a result of climate change.
Andy: That’s awful.
Leah: However, the penguin is not the only wild animal whose habitat is at risk. Due to illegal trading, deforestation, andglobal warming, many animals are endangered.
Andy: Is there something humans can do to protect these animals’ habitats?
Leah: Well, for some species, it’s already too late as actions should have been taken earlier.
Andy: There must be something that we can do and awareness of this issue should be raised.
Leah: My aunt sometimes conducts free online classes about wildlife in Antarctica. I think we can help her promote it.
Andy: That’s a great idea. Let’s join her next time.
Leah: Sure!
Audio script 2
Script:
Mark: Hello Hoa, how is our group presentation on Viet Nam in international integration for next week?
Hoa: Hi Mark, I’m thinking about what organisation we’ll choose to present. Do you have any ideas about this?
Mark: As far as I know Viet Nam has taken part in a lot of international organisations so far, but a few ones have been mentioned by the teacher like UNICEF, the United Nations and so on; so, we should find another one for everyone to gain new information. I recommend the ASEAN community.
Hoa: Okay, great! My country has joined this Association of Southeast Asian Nations since 1995, and we are going to host the SEA games next year. So let our classmates know more about the ASEAN with lots of interesting things about other countries like Thailand and Singapore.
Mark: I couldn’t agree more. Let’s talk about the outline for our speech, particularly the way we introduce the topic. Do you think we need to present a video to catch the audiences’ attention first?
Hoa: That’s a good idea! We’ll let them enjoy some audio-visual materials before showing them the main section including many detailed information about this regional community and how important the role of Viet Nam is in this organisation. So, I’ll take charge of this part, and the presentation’s body is yours, OK?
Mark: Well, although I love doing something related to technological jobs like making a video but… not in this case. Fine! Just follow your suggestion and Mike will be the IT guy this time.
